Lister stopped making these very
successful engines in 1987. Now they are made in Rajkot,
India under the colloquial name of Listeroid or
Listeroids. As part of the utterpower group we ensure
that our Indian partners only supply us their best
export quality engines.
These are not genuine Lister diesel
engines. They are copies of the engines made by
Lister UK. Lister SA never made any of these
engines. Lister UK exported thousands of these
engines to India where, after independance, the Indians
started to make there own spares for their Lister
engines under a hoist of different brand names but all
known as Lister types or Listeroids
The LT6 is the ideal slow speed engine to
drive water pumps and generators in off grid
applications. It
is an IDI, indirect injection engine. Research is
being done with to run
them on WVO, waste
vegetable oil or black gold (old engine oil). See
